Ye! Community Goes Global

The global launch of Ye! Community took place on 10 September in Antalya, Turkey, hosted by the Turkish G20 Presidency as part of the GPFI Forum.  Opened by Mr. Cavit Dagdaş, Turkish G20 Finance Deputy and Undersecretary of Treasury, and Jeroo Billimoria, Managing Director and Founder of CYFI, the exciting event celebrated the successes and efforts of young entrepreneurs, and provided a global platform to present their creativity and innovation.

Two inspiring young entrepreneurs from the Ye! Community joined the launch event: Tom Osborn, Founder of GreenChar, and Melis Abacioglu, a Turkish entrepreneur who started Actifit, a corporate wellness company. Tom, who’s also the Ye! Ambassador for Kenya, shared his personal story as a young entrepreneur growing up in Kenya. He spoke about his experience with the Ye! Community and called for the G20 leaders to take on initiatives to support more young entrepreneurs to succeed.

Other panelists –  Matthew Gamser (CEO of SME Finance Forum), Peer Stein (the World Bank Group), Flore-Anne Messy (OECD), Beth Porter (UNCDF) and Emre Durusut (MasterCard) spoke about their perspectives on youth entrepreneurship. They shared their support for Ye! and encouraged young entrepreneurs to keep on the great work . “Stick with it”, as said by Mr. Stein when asked about the advice he would give to all young entrepreneurs.
